Bleeding Control: Make sure that your child continures to bite on the gauze pas for 15 to 20 minutes after leaving the office. The pressure from the biting will help stop the bleeding and allow better clotting. Avoid spitting, rinsing, or using a straw for the rest of the day as this will disrupt clot formation.

Diet: A liquid diet is recommended for the frist 4 hours after visit followed by a soft diet for the rest of the day.

Pain Control:  If your child complains of any pain, you can give them child's Motrin/Ibuprofen or Tylenol as directed by the package.

Hygiene: Try not to disturb the clot for the rest of the dar. Gentle brushing and rinsing with warm salt water the next morning is recommended. Remember a clean mouth feels better and heals better.
